Meador's dream has resulted in the McDonald's Texas Invitational Basketball Tournament, an annual event that draws around 80 boys and girls teams from throughout the state, raises funds for programs in the Pasadena and Deer Park school districts and provides an economic boost to those communities. Because of that vision and its results, Meador is set to be inducted into the Pasadena ISD Athletics Hall of Fame on April 20 for "Meritorious Community Service." "When we first started, not many people believed we could do it," said Meador, a 1957 Pasadena High School graduate.
